CAMPAIGN FOR LEGAL ASSISTANCE

The need for support for legal services is great. Almost one-third of the GNO population is poor and less than 10% receive the legal assistance they need. The Campaign was launched to increase private charitable giving by the legal and business communities as well as private donors to New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation and The Pro Bono Project.

A Kick Off Event was recently held at the Bar Center announcing the Lead Donors:

American Bar Association, Litigation Section - $5,000
Bank One - $1000
Bell South Telecommunications, Inc- $1500
Richard A. Brunswick Charitable Foundation - $1200
Gheens Foundation $20,000
Mr. & Mr. Frank M. Laboureur - $1000
Justice and Judge Lemmon - $100
John Pearce - $500
